Honestly, I love teaching. it gives me great satisfaction when you spend two terms with one group and you see the results of your sweat and effort!! But sometimes, what you get is the total opposite of satisfaction: total frustration!!! You have spent so much time building skills, practicing grammar with students and giving them extra material you paid with your own money. After so much effort, what you get is something like this:
XD!!! Damn, in those moments you feel like cursing all heaven´s above, you start questioning the meaning of life, you really start believing what your mother said when you were a child ¨ did your friend miss the brain delivery?¨ XD. And multiply that fustration ten times when you realize those students are in ADVANCE!!
Ok, now, on a more serious note.... what to do to avoid what you´ve just witness on this video? What to do when you encounter problems like this? Is ¨extra material¨ enough? Is a good ¨oral beating¨ a great idea? CEL?
Any thoughts, ideas, experiences....welcome :)
It´s so graphic, I coudn´t stop laughing at this interview, it´s a sad reality, but it´s funny too.he couldn´t even understand the questions. Great post!
ReplyDeleteAmazing this guy should stay quiet and just play football (even in Spanish)...
ReplyDeleteBeen there done that... What can I tell you there are times in which I would kill myself whenever one or more of the students make the same mistake over and over again or they just have no idea of what we are doing or speaking in the class...
So I think that in order to help this students we could practice personally with them everytime they work in couples so that they get to know what is going on and get more involved with English learning...
fer this johnny speaking do y need alvaro's permission to take the tst again? please let me now or do you want me to write another le
ReplyDeletetter?
Firts of all its a great video...I totally agree with you that sometimes we feel frustrated after all the effort we apply in our teaching, but I believe that some students are just not gifted to learn languages therefore what we have to do is to keep doing our best...
ReplyDeleteYou always make me laugh even through your blog. I couldn´t stop laughing for a while. What should we do in this situation? It´s the question I always make and keep on working because those kind of students have learning problems. So, work harder with them.
